Indianapolis, IN — Following a difficult race at Virginia International Raceway just a few weeks ago, the Unitronic JDC-Miller Motorsports team heads to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend for Round 9 of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, bringing the No. 17 Unitronic Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport back to one of the most iconic venues in motorsports.

Looking Back on Virginia International Raceway

At VIR, Chris Miller and Mikey Taylor demonstrated the pace needed to challenge toward the front of the field throughout the weekend. The No. 17 Porsche showed strong performance across the race, putting the team in position to fight for a much stronger result before an unfortunate mistake in pit lane ultimately disrupted the team's progress and relegated the car to a 17th-place finish.

While the final result did not reflect the pace shown by the team and drivers, the performance provided another clear indication of the potential of the No. 17 Porsche as the 2026 season enters its final stretch.

Back to the Brickyard

The team now turns its attention to Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where the 2.439-mile, 14-turn road course will host the penultimate round of the 2026 Michelin Pilot Challenge season. The two-hour Indianapolis Motor Speedway 120 takes the green flag Saturday, September 19 at 2:30 PM ET.

Indianapolis carries a special place in the Unitronic JDC-Miller Motorsports story. In 2023, the team brought its No. 17 Audi RS 3 LMS TCR to the Brickyard and came away with a win in TCR, putting the Unitronic Audi on top of the podium at one of the most recognizable circuits in the world.

Now, three years later, the team returns with an entirely different race car, but the same objective: put together a clean, competitive weekend and make the most of the pace of the No. 17 Porsche. With only two rounds remaining on the 2026 Michelin Pilot Challenge calendar, every session counts as Unitronic JDC-Miller Motorsports looks to close out the season on a high note.

Racing for Walter

Sadly, the team recently lost its race engineer, Walter Preston. This weekend, we’ll carry Walter with us on our race car with a sticker in his honor, a simple reminder that he’ll always be part of our team. We’ll do our very best to make him proud this weekend and every weekend beyond. His impact on our team, and on all of us, will never be forgotten.
